BCF Batch '77, home after 30 years

Success in life is best felt when shared with classmates and former mentors in a school that molded their moral compass.

Some 75 professionals from all walks of life, 10 of them coming from different parts of the globe, came to Baguio for a simple reason-they want to share that "there's really nothing like the warm feeling of coming home especially when you've been away for 30 years".

This was written on the faces of the Baguio Colleges Foundation High School Batch '77 last Saturday, January 6, as they took a trip down memory lane, walking through the halls of what used to be their classrooms before.

"We were among the first batches to step into this building. Looking at UC now, we could not help but wish we had all these beautiful facilites that students today are enjoying", said Ms. Estrella Mendoza, the class valedictorian and one of the organizers of the reunion who now works as an administrative officer for the Department of Health.

Members of Batch '77, most of whom went on to become engineers, nurses, medical technologists and military men were transported back into their high school years as they giggled like schoolgirls and frolicked like teenage boys, snapping photos every now and then, swapping classroom jokes or just catching up.

The campus tour was one of the highlights of the three-day affair which kicked off with a karaoke night on January 5 followed by a motorcade the next morning. During their "Big Night" on Saturday at the Golden Pine Hotel, UC Chairman Mr. Jesus Benjamin Salvosa addressed the group and expressed his appreciation for their efforts in coming up with the event.

Before they parted after the Family Day picnic, the batchmates vowed to stay in touch and Overall Chair Jong Jimenez expressed his intentions of coming up with another reunion after 3 years.
