UC Mentor is 2016 Tagsanay Awardee

Assoc. Prof. Jonathan A. Barroga of the University of Cordilleras College of Hospitality Management and Tourism Management was bestowed the 2016 Tagsanay Award by the national Technical Education & Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

In a memorandum endorsed by TESDA Baguio-Benguet Provincial Director Angela E. Gabriel and Regional Director Francisco B. Jucar,Jr. of TESDA Cordillera Administrative Region, it was officially announced that Mr. Jonathan A. Barroga was selected and declared as the winner in the 2016 Tagsanay Award Regional level.

Mr. Barroga will be representing Cordillera Administrative Region in the upcoming national competition to be held in Metro Manila on August 21-25, 2016. Each candidates shall be housed in a one (1) week selection program for the Outstanding TVET Trainer 2016 Tagsanay Award in the Philippines.

The candidates shall be evaluated based on the Portfolio Evaluation, Written Exam, Individual and Team Activities and Panel Interview Evaluation with corresponding point allocation. Candidates will individually face a panel of interviewers of five (5) members (representatives from TESDA Board, PCCI, Metrobank, CSC, and DOLE) Topic of discussion will include, but not be limited to, actual experiences as a TVET trainer.

The 2016 National Tagsanay Awarding Ceremonies is scheduled to coincide with the TESDA Institutional Awarding Ceremonies during the TESDA anniversary week in August.
