OBJECTIVES

MDM is a 39-unit program designed for those who work in a developmentoriented organization, program or project. It is intended for those who want to harness their professional management skills in managing dynamic organizational and development contexts.

Offered on a full-time and/or part-time basis, MDM puts into proper context the interplay among the public, business, and non-profit sectors. Any individual who works with the government, with a non-government organization or a business firm will benefit most from this program. The course provides indepth analysis of the challenges besetting the public and development managers. It is meant to further capacitate individuals or development managers to understand and apply development principles drawing from social sciences, administrative sciences, and other disciplines. The program also aims to provide inputs on management concepts, principles, approaches and strategies that will be helpful in one's understanding, analyzing, assessing, and managing development processes in a development context. It enables students to develop greater commitment to serve the interest of the disadvantaged and ultimately, to improve their quality of life.

The program creates avenues for the students to: (a) expand their managerial knowledge and skills; (b) explore and apply new ideas and experiences; and (c) reflect on personal goals, values and career as they interact with development practitioners.
