Master in Criminal Justice with Specialization in Criminology

OBJECTIVES

The University of the Cordilleras Graduate School concurs generally to CHED's objectives of the program, MSCJC as follows:

  1. prepare the students to excel in the field of Criminology;
  2. equip them with advanced knowledge and skills necessary in the practice of Criminology profession;
  3. prepare and encourage the students to do advanced and/or independent research in Criminology; and
  4. train professionals to be more globally competitive in the field of Criminology.
Specifically, the MSCJC aims to:
  1. train professionals who shall adhere and practice universal values and uphold concrete manifestations of good morality in the criminal justice system; and
  2. graduate competent professionals in the field of Criminology.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

  1. qualifying or entrance examination on critical thinking appraisal administered by the Guidance Center
  2. Non-graduates in Criminology must have completed at least twelve (21) units of professional courses in Criminology consisting any of the following:
    • Introduction to Criminology
    • Psychology of Crime
    • Human Behavior and Crisis Management
    • Courses under Criminalistics
    • Courses in Law Enforcement Administration
    • Course under Crime Detection and Investigation
    • Course under Criminal Law and Jurisprudence
    • Correctional Administration
