Doctor in Information Technology

Program Overview

The Doctor in Information Technology (DIT) program of the University of the Cordilleras (UC) equips graduates with the proficiency and mastery to embark on IT projects and researches toward addressing social issues, and improving highly-valued business skills.

The 36-unit DIT program includes 24 units of specialization courses focused on the following:

  1. conduct of IT researches;
  2. management of IT projects;
  3. architecture of IT systems;
  4. use of IT in learning; and
  5. valuable IT career skills.

In addition, 12 units of dissertation provide students with opportunities to work on solutions to business and social issues, under the guidance of advisers from the academe and industry. Further, DIT students are required to present research papers in at least one national and at least one international conference with proceedings indexed by Scopus/ISI; or published in at least two Scopus/ISI-indexed journals.

Graduates of the UC-DIT program are comparatively competent in the academe and the industry, functioning as educators, IT leaders, project managers and researchers.

Admission Qualifications

  1. Graduate of Master of Science in Computer Science, Master in Information Technology, Master in Information Systems or any ICT allied graduate programs.
  2. IT research and project development during or after the master’s program, otherwise the applicant must take MIT courses deemed necessary by the Dean.
